  • A look inside Cresco Yeltrah's medical marijuana dispensary in Butler

A look inside Cresco Yeltrah's medical marijuana dispensary in Butler DES designed and installed the security, surveillance and access control at CY+ Dispensary in Butler, set to open later this month. Feb 1, 2018 BUTLER, Pa. — Dagostino Electronic Services customer Cresco Yeltrah ’s first medical marijuana dispensary is set to open its doors in Butler later this month but Wednesday, the media was invited inside. The video below from CBS Pittsburgh shows the inside of the CY+ Dispensary on Pillow Street. KDKA’s John Shumway shows off the patient waiting area, the main area where patient consultation will take place and finally the dispensary area which is set up similar to a pharmacy counter. The actual medical marijuana, in the form of lotions, pills, tinctures and oils, will be kept in a secure room in the back. DES designed and installed the security, surveillance and access control at CY+ Dispensary in accordance with strict guidelines set forth by the state. The building itself is windowless and somewhat resembles a fortress or a “bunker,” as Cresco Yeltrah co-founder Trent Hartley jokingly made the comparison during Wednesday’s media tour . In addition to the dispensary in Butler, DES is installing the security solution at Cresco Yeltrah’s Penn Avenue dispensary and has already completed security and surveillance at their processing facility in Brookville, Jefferson County. The Brookville facility, which was the first to receive state approval to being operations in October, is growing 30 different strains and will supply medical cannabis to dispensaries throughout the state. In order to receive medical marijuana, patients must have one of 17 qualifying medical conditions. It’s estimated that nearly 200,000 patients in Pennsylvania qualify for medical marijuana cards. *The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and KDKA-TV contributed to this report. Now Read These! Feb 24, 2014 If you picked up a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette this morning, you would have came across Dagostino Electronic Services, Inc.! Diana Nelson Jones wrote a fantastic profile about the decision to set up our company’s headquarters in the old Hays School. This quote here says it all: “Bob brought me in look at the school and I said, ‘Why don’t we get a renovated space?’ and he said, ‘No, no, this is our headquarters.’ He had a vision.” Realizing a Vision In recent years, Pittsburgh Public Schools has refocused their energy towards a consolidation of resources to help deal with a down economy and cuts in education funding. One man’s loss is another man’s treasure. Bob Dagostino is the type of business owner who epitomizes vision. Too often when we read about visionaries in business, we illuminate the big titans of business; the Steve Jobs and the Bill Gates; Andrew Carnegie and Andrew Mellon; and countless other examples. The economy we live in today is a global economy, therefore those titans of business are identifiable for most. But what really gets the economy churning, what really sets American capitalism at the pinnacle of globalization is the visionaries currently in charge of small businesses. • Smart Lighting and DES' Vision for Seamless Building Integration

Smart Lighting and DES' Vision for Seamless Building Integration Lighting is not just a standalone feature, but a key component in a larger, integrated approach to building management. Jun 25, 2024 At the crux of the DES philosophy around technology is the idea of connectivity. Nothing stands alone. In the realm of building technology, treating lighting as an isolated system is like using a smartphone just to make calls – you're missing out on a world of possibilities. Let's explore how integrating lighting into your broader infrastructure can yield benefits that ripple through your entire building ecosystem, creating a symphony of efficiency where once there was just a simple on/off switch. Thinking about it somewhat engimatically, smart LED fixtures are more than just illumination sources; they're the sensory neurons of your building's central nervous system. By connecting these fixtures to your main network, we're not just controlling light levels – we're creating a web of data collection points that span your entire facility. This network of intelligent lights forms the backbone of a truly responsive building environment. Consider these cross-system possibilities : Occupancy-Based HVAC Control: When Lighting and Climate Work in Symmetry Integrating lighting sensors with your HVAC system creates a duet of efficiency that would certainly enhance your ESG goals. This harmonious relationship ensures that heating and cooling adjust in real-time based on occupancy, turning your building into a living, breathing entity that responds to its inhabitants. It's like your building developed a sixth sense, minus the Bruce Willis cameo. Predictive Maintenance: From Reactive to Proactive By incorporating lighting data into your broader maintenance systems, we transform the entire approach to building upkeep. This predictive model doesn't just prevent surprise bulb outages; it contributes to a comprehensive understanding of your building's health. Envision your maintenance crew evolving from storm chasers to meteorologists, forecasting and preparing for system issues long before clouds appear on the horizon. Space Utilization Insights: Lighting the Way to Smarter Decisions When lighting data is viewed in context with other building systems, it becomes a powerful tool for understanding space utilization. This holistic view allows for informed decisions that go beyond just lighting or layout changes. It can influence everything from janitorial schedules to long-term real estate strategies. Emergency Response Integration: Safety in Critical Moments In emergencies, an integrated lighting system becomes a crucial part of your building's safety infrastructure. By working in concert with access control, surveillance, and communication systems, lighting doesn't just illuminate – it guides, informs, and protects. It's your building's way of saying, "Don't panic, I've got this," in a critical situation. The DES Power of Integration DES' holistic approach to systems integration transforms lighting from a utility into a cornerstone of intelligent building management. Through making connected systems "talk" with each other, we create more efficient, comfortable, and responsive environments. As we continue to advance in this field, the potential for further innovations and efficiencies is boundless, making integrated lighting a smart investment for forward-thinking facility managers and building owners. • DES brings state-of-the-art technology to Steamfitters' training center

DES brings state-of-the-art technology to Steamfitters' training center Dagostino Electronic Services designed and installed much of the technology at the Steamfitters' training facility in Harmony, Pennsylvania. Jun 20, 2018 HARMONY, Pa. – North of Cranberry just off Interstate 79 sits the Pittsburgh Steamfitters’ state-of-the-art 75,000 square foot training facility. Built in 2016, Dagostino Electronic Services was involved in the project from the start, working with the architect and contractor to make the Steamfitters Local 449 ’s vision for the center a reality. The Steamfitters’ new training facility is located north of Pittsburgh just off Interstate 79. Steamfitters are skilled and highly-trained pipe fitters who install process piping systems in buildings and facilities across multiple industries from shopping malls to hospitals. In the 15-county western Pennsylvania area it serves, the Local 449 has 2,700 members and 400 apprentices who use the center for core education and ongoing technical training. The building includes eight classrooms, labs for welding, pipe fitting and HVAC, classrooms, administrative offices and storage. Dale Glavin has been a Steamfitter for nearly four decades and the Local 449’s director of training for 19 years. Training previously took place in three different locations and they knew it was time to consolidate education into one building. “It was very overwhelming at the beginning,” Glavin recalled when discussing the process of a design build and selecting a technology integrator. The Steamfitters wanted a partner that could design and install every aspect of the center’s technology from the cabling to network infrastructure, wireless, security and phone systems and audio visual. “DES was one of those companies that came with the entire package,” Glavin said. “I could see that the team that DES brought to the table really took a lot of pride in making sure they understood our needs and would deliver them.” With skilled experts in all areas, DES was chosen for the job and was on site on day one, running cable and building out Steamfitters’ local area and wireless networks. A surveillance system with access control was added for monitoring all interior and exterior areas of the building with easy-to-use Genetec software. A Fortinet firewall was put into place to help stop cyberattacks. “It was very important to the Steamfitters that we maintained a secure building,” Glavin said. “We’ve had no security issues and the system is working extremely well.” DES also installed an Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise phone system as well as multimedia technologies in conference rooms, classrooms and common areas. The Steamfitters’ training facility has eight classrooms including a flex classroom with a projector and large screen that can be expanded to accommodate more students. All of the classrooms have either a flat screen monitor or an interactive Promethean board , the favorite among students and staff. Promethean’s technology allows students to remotely connect their computer, so the entire class can collaborate on a project or troubleshoot a problem. “Those boards and those classrooms are requested by not only the staff to use but the students prefer to learn off those Promethean boards ,” Glavin said. “It’s been a great product and an enhancement to our delivery system at the training center.” It was DES’ ability to deliver on all facets that proved invaluable to Glavin and the Steamfitters. During the initial meetings, DES’ technically savvy and experienced team made recommendations that helped the Steamfitters define their needs for the new center. “DES asked all the great questions to allow us to hone in on [what we needed],” Glavin stated. “They brought all that expertise to one table and that really was a great advantage for us.” And if there was ever a question or concern, DES was just a phone call away. Glavin concluded, “I would recommend DES to anybody that’s interested in doing audio visual and phone systems and all the products that DES has to offer. They did a fantastic job.” Steamfitters Steamfitters security camera Steamfitters Alcatel-Lucent access point Steamfitters - Conference Room Steamfitters - Conference Room Steamfitters Classroom Steamfitters security camera Steamfitters training center Steamfitters Data Rack Now Read These!
