Security Systems Engineer


Description The Systems Engineer position is responsible for providing full cycle implementation and support of customer systems, while working across multiple company departments to ensure full client satisfaction. Under the direction of a manager or dispatcher, coordinates the design and maintenance of all access control, intrusion, and video surveillance systems. Incumbent receives and evaluates work orders and requests, investigates requests and troubleshoots problems where appropriate, establishes priorities and coordinates with contractors, when required. Requirements Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Assists with security systems integration, mapping and software updates and helps train personnel in the use of these systems.
  • Assists on new projects in both existing areas and new construction helping with security assessments, vendor selection, technology upgrades, product selections, testing, field verification of systems and inspection of work in progress for compliance with standards
  • Assess work sites, conditions, and logistics for each project; Develop Method of Procedure based on pre-project assessment.
  • Design, develop and provide documentation of systems, configurations, and other pertinent information for the customer.
  • Communicate with clients to resolve issues in a professional and confidential manner; Develop and execute client specific solutions.
  • Manage the allocation of project resources, including software, hardware, tools, and related items specific to each customer and/or project.
  • Direct the work responsibilities of union labor personnel based on specific project needs.
  • Design and oversee training programs for new and existing customers; Determine which customers receive training.
  • Collaborate with Customer Relationship Managers on demonstrations for new and potential clients.
  • Perform installation, configuration, programming, and final commissioning of customer systems.
  • Work collaboratively with installation, project management and engineering teams.
  • Perform infrastructure services, including pulling cables, installing wall, and ceiling cabling, and installing surface mounted devices, as required.
  • Perform system wiring and terminations services, as required.
  • Deliver on-going remote and on-site technical support for existing customers and systems.
  • Additional responsibilities may be required as necessary, including but not limited to: Provide internal support for basic trouble shooting.
  • Organizes and manage parts stock and tools.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Workdays and Shifts: Position works Monday–Friday, daylight hours, and additional time as needed to complete work. Education/Certification(s)/License(s) required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • May be required to participate in safety trainings and/or certifications provided by the Company or customers.
  • Valid driver’s license, as employee will be required to travel to local and overnight client sites as needed.
  • Manufacturer specific certifications, as required.
  • Responsible to maintain active certifications and obtain new and updated certifications as required by the Company.
Experience/Other required:
  • Position requires two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience in the electronic services.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced software aptitude.
  • Security systems to include, service and maintenance across a broad spectrum of access control, intrusion and video surveillance systems such as, Genetec, Milestone, Bosch, and DMP.

Senior Lead Network Engineer


Description The Senior Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing projects, providing technical support for systems engineers and technicians, assisting sales engineers with network design and proof of concept for our customers and prospects, assisting with internal network design and policies, and keeping the department up to date on current technological developments and products. Requirements

  • Provide leadership for the networking department.
  • Provide cost control management for implementation services and day to day operations.
  • Exhibit exemplary business decorum in all situations.
  • Provide sales design support for DES sales engineers and account managers.
  • Conduct system design sessions with prospects and customers to include live and virtual meetings with white board sessions.
  • Provide implementation, break/fix, and MAC support for DES Engineers and Technicians, including PCs, servers, firewalls, wireless access controllers and access points, email filters, network switches, routers, and management applications.
  • Provide technical interface with manufactures and suppliers represented by DES.
  • Troubleshoot with DES engineers and technicians to determine system and device issues to provide resolution in a timely and professional manner.
  • Establish service and implementation schedules, project timeframes, and deadlines to ensure customer expectations are being met.
  • Provide support for corporate applications, including servers, email systems, and CRM applications.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient lab area for use by all team members.
  • Coordinate training requirements for the technical staff with the DES engineering manager.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer network systems.
  • Working knowledge of servers and firewalls.
  • Experience working with Sugar CRM is preferred.
  • Manufacturer and other certifications like CCNE, BICSI, PMP, CISM, CCNP, and CISSP are beneficial.

Network Account Manager


Description Dagostino Electronic Services (DES) is Pittsburgh’s leading designer and provider of communication solutions for Voice, Data, Security, Surveillance, Multimedia, and Structured Cabling. DES merges technology from some of the world’s premium providers, including but not limited to Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, HP/Aruba, Fortinet, Barracuda, and more with comprehensive service and support programs. DES is seeking a highly motivated Senior Account Manager to join our team. The successful candidate must have proven sales success with major accounts, as well as experience in enterprise technology sales. This role focuses on mid-market to enterprise level clients including those in the healthcare, education, financial, and manufacturing sectors. Custom compensation plan includes base-salary commensurate with experience, plus commission. Technologies include Enterprise Class LAN Switching, Routing, Wireless LAN, Firewalls, Voice, Network Access Control, and Cyber Security products. Requirements Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new prospects in the Northeast region of the US, with a focus on Western Pennsylvania, targeting accounts with annual telecom budgets in excess of $500,000.00.
  • Manage networking asset portfolios for major accounts.
  • Develop symbiotic relationships with new and existing accounts,
  • Create and present custom networking solutions targeting C-level decision makers.
  • Establish and maintain account relationships to ensure total customer satisfaction and increased revenue flow.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of DES Networking products and support offerings.
