Gov. Wolf's Security Grant is now LIVE for 30 days

New for 2020, the Nonprofit Security Grant (Act 83) will distribute $5 million for security enhancements to eligible nonprofits who fall under a single bias hate crime category. The application window is actively open for only 30 days until February 14, at 11:45 pm.
Jan 17, 2020

Created as a response to the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, the Nonprofit Security Grant Fund is aimed to enhance security for any 501(c)(3) nonprofit within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who is also a target of single-bias hate crimes. The grant is administered by the PCCD and ranges from $5,000 to $150,000, however any request over $25,000 will require a percentage of matching funds.

Dagostino has compiled a user-friendly resource guide to help nonprofits navigate this time-sensitive grant. It explains how to determine if a nonprofit is a target for hate crimes, what equipment the grant covers, what documentation is needed for application, and links to useful sites. We will be continuously updating the guide as new information is disclosed to the public.

Dagostino is well-positioned to evaluate the security needs of nonprofits. We tailor and install a comprehensive range of security and surveillance solutions, extending from perimeter and entry access control to emergency management and communication systems in-building. Our expertise lays in really understanding the nonprofit’s needs and implementing the most effective security infrastructure for the institution.  For example:

  • If you run a daycare, we will look at implementing an access control system that maintains your busy operations while keeping children safe.

  • Many Houses of Worship do not have lobby receptionists. We can set up remote entry systems combined with video surveillance so your congregants have safe entry.

  • Small and large community centers can benefit from interior & exterior intrusion detection through centralized video monitoring.

  • Some K-12 Schools are registered as nonprofit. We can install a range of security overlays including mass notification systems and networked lock-down systems.

Whether you are requiring security from the ground-up, or are needing to augment your current security infrastructure, we can create a plan that fits within your budget so you can get the most protection from this grant funding. Call us today for your free consult – 412- 412-531-4240 or email sdiggs@descomm.com.
