For their latest project, Faros Properties unveiled plans for Allegheny Center on the North Side to undergo major renovations.
Built in 1965 as a retail mall, Allegheny Center started to become vacant as stores closed in the mid 1990s. The renovations will turn the aging complex into a technology and innovation hub, renamed Nova Place. It will have more than $200 million in upgrades including office spaces, collaborative workspaces, restaurants, coffee shops, a fitness center, conference center, improved common areas and an updated outdoor plaza.
Nova Place will revitalize the community surrounding it and create a technology corridor into the city. Innovation Works, PNC Financial Services, Bank of America, and AT&T are all slated to be tenants.
