Network Account Manager

DES is seeking a motivated Account Manager to join our team. The successful candidate must have prior outside sales experience as well as experience in enterprise technology sales. This role focuses on mid-market to enterprise-level clients, including those in the healthcare, education, financial, and manufacturing sectors.

Custom compensation plan includes base-salary based on experience, plus commission for successful sales of any assigned accounts. Technologies include enterprise switching and routing, wireless, servers, storage, voice, and cybersecurity solutions as well as other services.

Position Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new prospects in the Northeast region of the US, with a focus on Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, and Ohio initially. Territory is encouraged to be expanded into other locations of this region over time.
  • Manage portfolios of key accounts, nurture and source existing leads for these customers as well as any new prospects
  • Recommend products and solutions to prospective customers that best suit their needs and environment
  • Attend tradeshows and customer-facing events to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and enhance brand recognition in the region
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations to customers with the ability to follow up with C-level or other key decision makers
  • Prepare price quotations, and work with vendors and partners on special pricing, delivery dates, etc.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of DES’ Networks Division’s products and service offerings
  • Participate in preparation of sales forecasting, including accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Develop and manage partner relationships to identify customer opportunities and ensure sales enablement
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust activities accordingly
  • Ensure data is entered in a timely and accurate manner in the CRM

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 3+ Years minimum of outside sales experience required
  • Prior Enterprise or Solution-based technology sales experience in B2B environment is preferred
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships, influence others, and create consensus to close deals
  • Ability to make recommendations and/or determine the best solutions for customers and prospects
  • High level of initiative and drive – engages in proactive behavior and looks for new opportunities
  • Must be comfortable meeting prospects and customers, hosting meetings, and independently leading conversations
  • Demonstrate expertise in formal sales techniques: prospecting, cold calling, up-selling, cross-selling and closing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with an ERP/CRM database
  • Candidate must have reliable transportation

This position is an outside sales position. Outside sales team members will work towards monthly and quarterly quotas and goals.

Network Systems Engineer

The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation and programming of networking, voice, data, and wireless network solutions. You will be a part of the Networking Division team that is responsible for providing technical support and final commissioning of customer systems.

Position Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients to understand and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Develop and execute client specific solutions and propose new ways to approach existing challenges.
  • Provide best in practice and security centered ideas to customers to help improve and protect their systems.
  • Assess work sites and project logistics for each project and communicate with project managers in a timely manner to help address issues.
  • Create and update all documentation for systems, configurations and pertinent information for customers, and upload to appropriate internal storage systems.
  • Create backups and validate documentation when accessing client equipment and make configuration changes.
  • Verify all products are properly registered and support contracts assigned.
  • Provide training for customers during or after installation based on client preference and verify customer’s comfort level with equipment before hand-off.
  • Provide guidance to union labor personnel based on project needs.
  • Collaborate with account managers, when needed, on demonstrations for new and potential clients.
  • Perform installation, configuration, programing and final commissioning of customer systems.
  • Working collaboratively with installation, project management, support and engineering teams.
  • Perform infrastructure services, including pulling cables, installing wall and ceiling cable, and installing surface mounted devices, as needed.
  • Perform system wiring and terminations, as required.
  • Complete timecard entries on daily basis with notes to update project manager on project status.
  • Provide assistance with support cases as needed with remote and on-site technical support for existing customers and systems.
  • Stay current on all manufacturer and industry certifications.
  • Help provide internal support for basic troubleshooting, systems backups and archiving.
  • Provide support for company network/telephony applications and create user accounts for new users.

  • Strong working knowledge of ‪networking, telephony and voice solutions.‬
  • Associate degree in telecommunications, technology or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Security Systems Sales Engineer

The Security Systems Sales Engineer is the primary technical resource for the business development team. This position is responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and recommending technology resources throughout the sales process, and acts as an advocate for the company’s products.

Position Responsibilities

  • Review RFP information to qualify opportunities that best fit the portfolio of company’s offerings.
  • Create new estimates by utilizing company’s estimating program.
  • Collaborate with project manager to design and update technical documentation, including Scope of Work (SOW), schedule of values and change order estimates.
  • Update CRM system with final bid amount, margins and other pertinent data.
  • Provide additional information required for proposals, as needed.
  • Oversee scope review meetings with customer, providing knowledge and feedback of project specifications.
  • Review estimate/SOW to verify all documents match accordingly; makes modifications to original estimate so that it matches customer purchase order amount.
  • Develop and create submittal packages for sales team and manage submittal sheets on internal server.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings with project manager.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Associate degree in telecommunications, technology or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience as a sales engineer/estimator.
  • Working knowledge of IP cameras, door access controls, video management systems, CCTV, and related security solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Genetec, Axis and DSX products is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Structured Cabling Project Manager

The Structured Cabling Project Manager oversees the integration and installation for the framework on which information systems are built for our valued customers. This position defines each cabling project’s objectives and manages budget and quality control.

Position Responsibilities

  • Define and develop project scope, goals, expectations and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and deliver project completion by meeting or exceeding budget, timeline and quality expectations.
  • Provide quality customer interaction and build customer relationships with successful project completion and communication.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team and contractors.
  • Ensure all labor and OSHA requirements are met.
  • Work with systems engineers to develop Method of Procedure (MOP) for cutover of critical components.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and inventory control to ensure the timely sourcing of all tools and materials.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM) strongly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with structured cabling preferred; purchasing experience a plus.
  • General knowledge of electronics services industry (voice, data, security, multimedia and/or structured cabling) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with high attention to detail.
